I am stuck`

Written by andy on Tuesday, September 30th, 2003 in Gaming.

If anyone has any advise for MOH: Breakthrough. I would appreciate it. I am currently stuck at the part where I am armed with a sniper rifle and I have to keep the bad guys from bringing down the communication tower.

On call , Gaming, PHP and HTML

Written by andy on Monday, September 29th, 2003 in General.

This week, I am on-call for work, which means I will most likely loose lots of sleep, I won’t eat correctly and I am going to be a grump.

I have been getting in some gaming though. I am almost done with Medal of Honor: Breakthrough which is a continuation of the original story. The models are looking better, but this one has too many snipers and they are getting in my way. What I really hate about these types of games is when you finally get a squad of men to help out, they all get caught in a fire fight and all get blown away. Or when you get into a jeep and you are manning a machine gun. You are taken out by a freakin plane with a bomb. DANG IT!!

Oh, I don’t get PHP, but I am trying

HTML – that is pretty easy… I mean, I do what I need to do to get what I need to do or until someone shows me a better way of doing it.

New PDA

Some how a Sony PEG-UX50 Clie found its way into my hands this weekend. It is so cool! Oh yeah, you can blame Pirillo.

Toys Site, Tivo back from the grave, Games!

Written by andy on Saturday, September 27th, 2003 in TV.

Where the heck have I been? It has been a couple of days since I have made a post. This unfortunately is what happens when new games come out.

I have been playing Medal of Honor:Breakthrough, Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes along with Madden NFL 2004 ( Xbox). As you can see a couple of games came in and I just can’t let them sit around be go unplayed. :)

I also have spent a good chunk of my time bringing my hacked Tivo back from the dead and got it all hooked up again and working.

I also scored all 52 episodes of Speed Racer on DVD. They were available back in 2001 from SpeedRacer Enterprises and are now Out Of Print. Which means they weren’t cheap, but at least I have all of the episodes. I know that just recently a new DVD was released that has just 11 episodes on it and the case feels like a automobile tire, umm “big whoop”.

Additionally, I slapped together a Toy Site where I am going to start a little pictorial diary of my toys.

Done messing around, still don’t know anything about HTML

Written by andy on Sunday, September 21st, 2003 in GamersCircle.

This weekend, I spent most of my time trying to find ads that are within the theme of my sites. It wasn’t easy, there are a lot of ads out there, but I am starting to narrow in on them. So, I would like to apologize to any and all that might have been put off with the changes. The truth of the matter is that I need to just make enough to keep the sites up and running. I am trying to follow in the foot steps of some of the internet giants out there, but it is not easy as they are mush more savy than I am with this stuff.

By chance, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas. Please feel free to email me and let me know what I am doing wrong.

I am still working on my site, but I liked what Leo did with his gear, so I copied it. You should be able to see it on the right of the page here. I think my gear is better than his also. :) Also, I don’t want you all to forget that I put up some forums, so please click your way over there and join in on the chatter.

FILExt

This site is really cool. If you have a file and you simply don’t know what program to use to open it. Then go to this site has a search engine that allows you to enter in the file extension (*.doc, *.txt..) and it will tell you want to use with a download reference as well.

Shyamalan linked to “Superman” now?

Written by andy on Friday, September 19th, 2003 in Movies.

SuperheroHype is reporting that because of the spat between Jon Peters, Warner Bros., and Brett Ratner regarding budget issues several months ago, Peters will now leave the “Superman” project. Ratner left this past summer due to conflicts with Peters.

The site now reports that “Ocean’s Eleven” producer Jerry Weintraub will be brought in by the studio to oversee the project. It is now also reported that M. Night Shyamalan is a new contender to direct the “Superman” movie.

It has been reported that McG, who was originally chosen to direct “Superman” last year, is back on board but these new rumors may indicate that McG is off the project…again.

The site also reports that Matthew Bomer and Brendan Fraser are the top two contenders for the Superman role, with an announcement to be made soon. Cinema Confidential

Today didn’t start off to good. I had a lot of meetings at work, got no work done because of those meetings. Not many toys game in the mail today. I messed up my blog when I was working on the main site. (made repairs though) Did some work on the forums.

And there is no way in hell, I will pay Amazon 1 million dollars for this keyboard. Unless, it has the “best” voice recognition, can do all my work for me and never makes a mistake. Then maybe, just maybe. I will have the local blood bank take all of my blood, sell all of my possessions and buy it. Maybe.

Waste of time or just an art?

I know people that will actually listen to 70’s cartoon and sitcom theme to scribble down the words. I also know people that can pick out details in a movie(s) that most people wouldn’t notice. However, when I went cruising by BoingBoing I couldn’t believe what I read.

In an experiment aimed at determining qualitatively how much ink is inside a sharpie, the How Much is Inside people spent two days labelling CDRs with a single Sharpie. The answer:

The total was 968 CDs labeled with one Sharpie marker. It estimated the total distance marked to be 1,800 feet.

People have thier hobbies I suppose. Me? I like collecting DVD’s and playing PC games and just getting geeky.

It would appear that the new television season is almost upon us.

  • Mondays will be: The King of Queens
  • Tuesdays will be: Fraiser
  • Wednesdays will be: Enterprise
  • Thursdays will be: Friends, Will & Grace, Couplings
  • Fridays will be the beginning of my Gaming Weekend.
  • Andy Wood buys out Chris Pirillo (lol)

Well, okay, perhaps that is just a little white lie? Headlines like these could really raise some eye brows that is for sure. Mainly, because they would be saying, “Who the hell is Andy Wood?” Or would it be more like, “Why is Uber Geek Chris selling all of his gnome-ish empire? The Gnome jet, the Gnome mansion, the entire collection of Gnome tunes, the Gnome pooch and the Gnome women? ”

Chris is not selling anything that has anything to do with his Lockergnome. Chris himself is just having a little virtual yard sale and is clearing out some of his geeky possessions. I (Andy Wood, you know the guy you thought was buying Chris out) just so happens to have the green (aka cash) laying around and am in the market for a couple of the items.

As you can see from the item list, I am scoring a PowerShot S45 and a Linksys BEFSX41. The camera is just the size for when I go on trips or need to take a quick shot. I already own a PowerShot G3 (awesome camera!), so I couldn’t help him out there. The Linksys BEFSX41 I am picking up to pass along to a friend that needs a router solution for his home dsl connection.

Perhaps I will have him autograph them and I can score big on eBay with them. :)
