My Thursday and Friday

Written by andy on Friday, May 12th, 2006 in Gaming, TV.

These two days blended together like peanut butter and jelly between some bread. I don’t have the exact times, but here are some details..

When I finally rolled out of bed on 5/11/2006 I popped in:

Planet of the Apes; followed by
I zipped through this as I have seen
most of the special stuff. Then it
was off to -
A great sequel, just as good as the 1st

Took a littke break, booted up the gaming rig and played some BF2:

I then Fandango’d to see when the 1st showing of POSEIDON was going to be, made a trip to the local movie house and got myself a warm pretzle and soda combo.

Then it was back to the monkey movies -

This one was a little slow,
but I made it to:
Which starts off a little slow, but then
gets into it and primes you for -
Which has scenes never been seen before,
like the human showing another nuclear
bomb and talking about launching it.

POSEIDON: Movie Review

Written by andy on Friday, May 12th, 2006 in Movies.

The visual effects are appropriately fantastic, and the ship tipping over is really quite amazing. If you thought you had seen the mother of all ship disasters created on film with James Cameron’s TITANIC, this pic might just have it beat.

The loss in depth of character and emotional investment, seems to be make up for in tension, claustrophobia, and the looming sense of you just may bite the big one.

The film is good and entertaining. Poseidon is pretty much nonstop action from beginning to end. It doesn’t have to have a huge plot, other than the race to survive. It’s the first summer disaster movie that I’ve seen in a long time that was just a blast to watch.
