Stargate SG-1 Season Three – OMG!!

Written by andy on Thursday, May 18th, 2006 in TV.

Like most Sci-Fi series, if they haven’t gotten thier groove by season 3, then they usually will not be around for season 4. Stargate SG-1 was on unusually solid ground early in this run, then when season three hit, it was able to build on that foundation, with creative adventures and some great acting.

I finding myself busting at the seems anytime someone trys to explain anything remotely technical to O’Neill, they are usually confronted with what I refer to as the “Kramer” holler and are asked to just continue.

While I enjoyed many of the episodes in this season, I wasn’t to thrilled about quality of supplemental content. To be honest, I am starting to get tired of the General having the limited lines of, “SG-1, you have a go!”, “I will take that under advisement”, “Close the Iris”, “Open the Iris”… yadda yadda.

This season ended in Nemesis that well was a cliff-hanger where the Asgard are in trouble due to mechanical bugs, dubbed Replicators.

Diamond Selects Announces Battlestar Galactica Collectibles!

Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles (DST) has announced a partnership with Art Asylum and Universal Studios Consumer Products Group to manufacture products based on SCI FI’s hit original series, Battlestar Galactica. As part of the agreement, Art Asylum will handle development of the resin collectibles and MiniMate block figures for both the groundbreaking classic show and the immensely popular modernized series, while DST will handle the marketing and sales of the new line.

“With Battlestar Galactica, it was an incredibly easy decision to make when Art Asylum approached us,” said DST Marketing and Sales Supervisor Michael Leavey. “Art Asylum quickly added it to their library of properties and, as with our Star Trek line, we immediately began talks to help produce the highest quality products possible.”

With designs already well underway, DST and Art Asylum plan to release several resin busts featuring key characters from both series, as well as a miniaturized line of MiniMate block figures. While specific details and images are not yet available, early MiniMate prototypes were featured during February’s American International Toy Fair in New York. The first series of Battlestar Galactica MiniMates is expected to ship later this year.
