According to Variety, Iron Man will arrive on television long before it appears in theatres. Marvel is feverishly working on animated series for the superhero set for release this fall on the Cartoon Network.
Fall, more like the end of summer with the release set some time in August. Taking a move similar to Fantastic Four, the animated series should gather and rekindle fans around the Iron Man franchise.
Fox is also working on an animated series for Fantastic Four, with a movie sequel, Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer, due out in June of 2007.
Marvel’s VP, Craig Kyle, described the upcoming Fantastic Four series as a “comedy-adventure series that kids and parents can watch together.”
Though the animated shows are being developed separately from the live-action features, Kyle admits that they will support each other.
“We never feel like we are stepping on each others’ toes,” he said. “It’s a way to spread out the character and get to as many fans as possible.”
