Celebrate Star Trek’s 40th – with Die Cast Enterprise and Bird of Prey

Corgi International Limited the leading name in die-cast scale models, has added another license to their already impressive portfolio, by signing a new deal with Copyright Promotions to produce a range of commemorative products to celebrate Star Trek’s 40th anniversary in 2006.

The first two die-cast replica models from the Star Trek range will be launched in February 2006; the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 and the Klingon Bird of Prey. Both spacecraft have become synonymous with the Star Trek global phenomenon, with the Enterprise having been featured in the very first episode screened in 1966.

SCI FI Unveils All-New Battlestar Galactica Webisodes

To build anticipation for the October 6 season premiere of Battlestar Galactica, SCI FI is unveiling original webisodes on its website.

The 10 new webisodes of “The Resistance” will premiere each Tuesday and Thursday up until the show’s third season begins on October 6. The new Web-exclusive adventure deals with the Cylon occupation of New Caprica and the former crew of the Galactica recruiting soldiers to their budding resistance movement. Deluxe Collector’s Edition – The Official U.S. & Japanese film Versions

Godzilla fans will be just on top of their game when they get to check out the extras on the double-disc set. Classic Media has a gallery of authors and experts armed with plenty of information. Steve Ryfle and Ed Godziszewsky gang up on commentaries for both flicks really spill the beans which is very entertaining. Did you know that Tomoyuko Tanaka made a claim to have been inspired by a view of the ocean viewed from an airplane, but the previous year’s Ray Harryhausen movie is referenced as the deal-setter. Godzilla was even originally scripted to destroy a lighthouse!
