Is Bungie bumped about Fox and Universal?

Written by andy on Sunday, October 22nd, 2006 in Movies.

Bungie has posted a brief update on the recent loss of the studios once given the task of distributing Halo. Universal and Fox wanted to renegotiate the Halo movie deal at the 11th hour and Microsoft and its partners, Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh refused.

“We are disappointed that Universal and Fox wanted to significantly renegotiate the financial points of the deal. But the Halo franchise is hugely popular and our goal remains the same – to find a partner that shares our passion and will creatively collaborate with us to best represent the story and spirit of the Halo franchise. Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and the rest of the creative team are dedicated to ensuring the Halo movie becomes a reality. We are already in discussions with potential partners who recognize the value of the Halo brand and its appeal to consumers worldwide.”

I retired my MX700 Keyboard

Not because it wasn’t working, but I have had this MX3100 combo that I have only been using the mouse out of as I never did like how the standard keyboard was changing. It looks though, that they all are changing and it is not a passing phase. The function keys are smaller (which cause slight issues in gaming, but I will get used to it), the whole ‘home, end, delete, page up & page down’ area is what I am having a hard time getting used to. I use those keys a lot at work and home and , now that someone has futzed with them. I am going to have to get used to a new setup all over.

Microsoft Not Giving Up On Halo Movie After Studio Drop Out

Written by andy on Sunday, October 22nd, 2006 in Movies.

Following Universal Pictures’ and 20th Century Fox’s announced cinema interruptus this past Thursday, the folks at Redmond swam out of the cash filled pool long enough to give the following statement regarding the financial status of the Halo movie adaptation.

We are disappointed that Universal wanted to significantly renegotiate the financial points of the deal. We are already in discussions with potential partners who recognize the value of the ‘Halo’ brand.

Maybe someone at Fox and/or Universal were annoyed by that “We Won’t Make Any Money On This Movie” clause. via Kotaku
