‘Marvel Super Hero Squad’ the series?

According to The Hollywood Reporter Marvel Animation is producing 26 episodes of a new “super stylized” animated series known as Marvel Super Hero Squad.

Film Roman, the company that creates the animation for The Simpsons, will provide production services for the new series, which Marvel hopes to have on the air in 2009.

Two other Marvel-based animation series, Wolverine and the X-Men, and Iron Man: Armored Adventures are both set to debut on Nicktoons in the spring of 2009.

Concept Mistaken For Leaked Enterprise Image

AICN got the net buzzing today by linking to this image with the suggestion that it may be a leaked design for the Enterprise in the new Star Trek.

….but CGI artist Gabriel Koerner has confirmed this is actually one of his designs. Gabriel Koerner is well known to Star Trek fans as both a beloved fan featured in the documentaries Trekkies and Trekkies 2 as well as an accomplished CGI artist.

Microsoft Releases GTA4 Sales Stats

Microsoft recently shared some new numbers on the 360 GTA4’s popularity. According to internal estimates, console sales for the Xbox 360 rose by 54% due to GTA4, with about 40% of new consoles sold being bought alongside a copy of the game. They also made the claim that 60% of all GTA4 copies sold in the first week were the Xbox 360 versions — which is certainly good sales if true, although not quite two-to-one.

‘Dead of Night’ officially a go

Brandon Routh is returning to the world of comicbook heroes.

The “Superman Returns” star will topline “Dead of Night,” based on the bestselling Italian comicbook series “Dylan Dog,” for Hyde Park and Platinum Studios.

Kevin Munroe will direct from a script by “Sahara” scribes Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly.

Routh will play a private investigator who is drawn into the world of the undead.

Created by Tiziano Sclavi, “Dylan Dog” was first published in 1986 and has been translated into 17 languages.
