I barely remember the original “The Andromeda Strain”; it was provative in areas that you didn’t dare attempt to go. (back then)
The Andromeda Strain was a good sci-fi television events for A&E. They did a great job at creating this miniseries based off of Michael Crichton’s best-selling novel by the same name.
The story centers on a U.S. military satellite that crashes in the small town of Piedmont, Utah. Once opened, the satellite unleashes a deadly plague that kills all but two in the town. The military attempts time and time to quarantine the spread of Andromeda, but it takes a team of highly specialized scientists arrive to figure out what the plague, code name Andromeda, exactly is and where it came from.
