I took 6th place in FNM on 10/18/2008

This was my first FNM (Friday Night Magic). Mainly as when I started playing MTG (back in ‘93-ish) there was no FNM or organized play. I have been the Tournament Organizer for the shop ever since we opened, but last night I got another TO (aka Tournament Organizer) to fill in and I got to play. (it was a surprise too, no other players knew [giggle])
I played with a modified version of this
My 1st match was up vs a Kithkin Beater – fast and furious and I was swamped on the 1st round, but I ended up taking that match 2-1, my favor.
2nd round was vs some type of Rouge deck – I got some great draws and was able to answer answer enough to take that match 2-0, my favor.
3rd round was versus a Faeries of which I was only drawing lands and not real soltuions, with out exception Soul Snuffers, as he was able to keep killing off the dudes from BitterBlossom.
There was a question in regards to a Faerie Rogue token which is equipped with Loxodon Warhammer and then in response to it attacking, it was snakeformed what happens? I made the call that the hammer would drop off (ie state change to creature), thusly impacting the trample and life link.
Turns out that was not completely correct. The snakeform would affect the trample and life link, but the Loxodon Warhammer would stay equipped and the Faerie Rogue token would be a snake swinging for 4.
4th round was vs a Shards Exalted deck of which I did a 1-2.
So, 6th place it was.
