I remember when there was a madding craze for match box and hot wheels. I was more of a hot wheel person though and the time that I spent assembling those orange and yellow pieces of track to make my own race way , was a ton of fun.
Over the years, I have seen then in the stores, but never really gave them a notice until now!
Check it out! Hot Wheels just came out with 1:50 scale die cast miniatures!

And you know that I hooked up with one too:

This is just too funny to not share. Okay, since I am slightly into Mini-mates, I got a good laugh out of this and the simple fact that Hulk is beating the snot out of Robin with his own arms is just classic.

I can tell you what was my very first comic book that is still in my collection is Howard the Duck #8. I can also tell you that Iron Man is my favorite comic book character, but who was my hero growing up?
Lone Ranger? Nah, didn’t like the whole cowboy and indian thing. Neal Armstrong? Cool idea, but someone like that just wouldn’t have been around enough. Bob Wilkins? It is very true, I spent many a late night in front of the black and white tube watching this dude, but then I would need to have an uncle like Tom Savini to make it a set.
Nope - since I was a typical kid growing up, I was hooked on the Saturday morning ‘toons. The corny, but good ones like Space Ghost, Herculoids, Johnny Quest, but my absolute favorite was:

None other than Frankenstein Jr and his pal Buzz.

Hot on the heels of its ratings success with “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” the Cartoon Network is looking to strike while the iron is hot and add more original animated content to their line-up.
First up will be a new Saturday morning series based on the popular Hot Wheels toy line, called “Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5.”
According to Variety, the move is in keeping with chief content creator Rob Sorcher’s desire to cultivate boys’ action and adventure shows, with an emphasis on bankable brands like Batman and Star Wars.
The new animated series will be produced by Nelvana and Vancouver’s Nerd Corp Entertainment. The series is set to debut early in 2009.
On a related note, there is also a potential Hot Wheels movie in development. Sony Pictures is currently toying with the idea and looking at Joel Silver to produce.
